Defaulted personal loan account. Bank is acquired. What happens now?

hello friends, i have a personal loan account which is defaulted. now im away from my place for my job.will have some amount in bulk and reshcedule with bank if possible. but now i learn, amex with whom my PL is with has been acquired by stan.charted. now what happens to my account.
