The Columbian exchange how it started?

Columbus came to America under Spain and used natives as slaves in giant plantations. Then they imported Africans to America to replace the native Americans because they knew that the natives probably wouldn't stand much of the abuse any longer. The trading was between the Americas, Europe and Africa and a little bit of South America.
