Do you know who Norman Mattoon Thomas was?

He was a dinner guest at our home from time to time. My father was a life-long socialist. All but two planks of his platform are the law of the land today. BTW, Norman has a High School named after him in Manhattan and his son, Evan, is the Deputy Editor of Newsweek magazine.
